So i biber

Posle napornog radnog dana, pogotovo kad je leto, najviše što mogu da poželim je da sednem u neki hlad i jedem ukusnu hranu. Ne mogu da vam opišem svoje oduševljenje kad me je drugarica pozvala i rekla da će doći po mene da idemo negde na ručak.

Ovog puta odlučile smo da posetimo čuveni restoran So i biber. Toliko sam slušala o ovom restoranu, a pošto je drugarica tamo već bila, otišla sam da proverim da li će nam utisci biti isti.

Restoran So i biber ušuškan je na Starom sajmištu i kad mu prilazite prvo što će vam zapasti za oko je prijatan hlad, koji leti savršeno dođe. Zaista izgleda kao mesto gde vam odlično dođe da posle radnog vremena odmorite sa vama dragim osobama.

Bez obzira što je napolju bilo veoma prijatno za sedenje, ipak smo odlučile da jedemo unutra, jer na 40 stepeni meni je rad klime zaista neophodan. Elem, kad smo ušle unutra prvo što mi je zapalo za oko je gvozdena ograda oko stepenica i na spratu, kao i veliki kristalni luster. Uz pod u vidu šahovske table, mogu reći da je ovo jedan zanimljiv spoj.

Ovo je restoran nacionalne kuhinje, pa ćete tako moći da osetite blagodeti svih nacionalnih specijaliteta, bilo da ste za dobro predjelo, kuvano ili glavno jelo, ima ovde hrane i za one najizbirljivije. Ko manje voli meso može da izabere neki od ribljih specijaliteta, a za ljubitelje testa tu su, naravno, nezaobilazne paste i pizze. Ono što bih posebno pohvalila je to što su specijaliteti od mesa izdvojeni po vrstama mesa, a takođe i pohvala za to što postoji i dečiji meni. Tu za svako jelo piše gramaža, pa verujem da to dosta olakšava roditeljima u izboru jela za njihove mališane.  

So i biber je poznat po tome da se tu služe velike porcije, što mi je i drugarica potvrdila, tako da smo u startu znale da ćemo podeliti jedno jelo. Prvo smo se odlučile za Domaću (teleću) čorbu (140 rsd) i već po tome se videlo da su porcije velike, jer tu je bilo čorbe za komotno tri osobe. Bila je veoma ukusna, a mesa je u njoj bilo toliko da je i drugarici i meni malo ostalo na dnu tanjira.

Posle čorbe, drugarica je predložila da uzmemo nešto od glavnih jela i odlučile smo se za Mediteranske trougliće (850 rsd). Reč je o svinjskom fileu punjenim kačkavaljem, šunkom i paprikom. Porcija je zaista velika, pet komada rolovanog, ukusnog mesa, sa odličnim spojem i proporcijom navedenih priloga, što je potvrdilo dobar glas ovog restorana. Pečeni krompir i pirinač su dali jelu dodatni šmek, kao i Šopska salata (160 rsd), koju smo uz to naručile.

Stvar koja mi je bila čudna je to da imaju coca-colu na točenje. Zaista je to neobično za jedan beogradski restoran koji je veoma poznat, ne sećam se da sam to skoro videla ni u nekom fast food-u... Kako nismo želele da uzmemo na točenje, odlučile smo se za coca-colu zero (160 rsd). Ona je bila u limenci.

Malo bih se osvrnula na uslugu. Konobari nisu neljubazni, ali su, recimo, neobični. Kad smo sele, konobar nas je pitao šta ćemo da pijemo i mi smo rekle da nam za početak donese bokal vode, ali da ćemo naručiti nešto i za piće i za jelo, samo da malo razmislimo. Veoma brzo je doneo bokal mlake vode, po izuzetno toplom danu. Mislim da malo leda ne bi nikom škodilo na plus 40. Nakon što smo rekle da nam donese dve coca-cole zero, konobar je doneo dve limenke, bez čaša, a u čašama nam je bila sipana voda. To mu nije bio znak da donese još dve čaše već je sve vreme stajao pored nas dok se nismo odlučile šta ćemo da jedemo. Kad dođem u restoran, očekujem malo privatnosti, a i vremena da razmislim šta mi se jede u tom trenutku. Ono što moram da pohvalim je to da smo sve vrlo brzo dobile, čekanje je bilo minimalno.

Ljudi koji ovde dolaze su iz svih branši, tog dana kad smo mi bile mislim da je najviše bilo poslovnih ljudi, mada ni mlađi nisu izostajali.

So i biber je nesumnjivo mesto na koje treba otići, jer su porcije velike i ukusne, a cene sasvim pristojne, tako da za odnos cena - kvalitet od nas imaju najviše ocene.

After a hard work day, especially during summer, the thing I desire the most is to sit under some shade and eat delicious food. I can’t describe my enthusiasm when my friend called me and said she would pick me up to go somewhere for lunch.

This time we decided to visit the famous So i biber restaurant. I heared so much about this restaurant, and since my friend was there already, I went to check if our impressions would be the same.

The So i biber restaurant is tucked away in Staro sajmiste and the first thing you see when you approach it is a pleasant shade, perfect for a hot summer day. It really looks like a good place to visit after work, to rest a bit with your friends or family.

Regardless of the fact that it was very pleasant to sit outside, we decided to eat inside, because at 40 °C, I really need AC. When we got inside, the first thing that caught my eye was the iron fence around the stairs and on the floor, as well as a large crystal chandelier. And the floor decorated like the chessboard, I can only say that this is an interesting match.

This is a national cuisine restaurant, so you can feel the advantages of all the national specialties, whether you crave a good appetizer, homemade or main dish, here you can find something for everyone. Those who aren’t big fans of meat may choose one of the fish specialties, and for those who love dishes made out of dough, of course, here you can find the unavoidable pastas and pizzas. What I especially liked is that the meat specialties are categorized by the types of meat, and also I praise them for having the children's menu. There you can see how many grams every dish weighs, so I believe that that makes it a lot easier for parents in choosing meals for their little ones.

So i biber is known for serving large portions, which was confirmed by my friend, so we knew from the beginning that we would share one dish. We started with their  Homemade (veal) soup (140 rsd) and after seeing this dish it was obvious that the portions are large, because three people could share this soup, easily. It was very delicious, and there was so much meat in it, that in the end, in both mine and my friend’s plate, there was some meat left at the bottom of the plates.

After the soup, friend suggested that we try one of the main dishes so we ordered Mediterranean triangles (850 rsd). It's a pork fillet stuffed with cheese, ham and bell pepper. The portion is really large, five pieces of rolled delicious meat, an excellent blend of the listed ingredients, which only confirmed the good voice that follows this restaurant. The baked potatoes and rice gave an additional flavor, as well as Shopska salad (160 rsd), which we ordered with our food.

The thing that was strange to me was that they serve Coca-cola from soda tap. That’s really unusual for a Belgrade restaurant, which is very famous, I don’t remember seeing that recently, even in some fast food bars... Since we didn’t want something tapped, we had decided to order Coca- cola Zero (160 rsd ). That comes in a can.

I would like to write a few words regarding the staff. The waiters are not unkind, but they are, to say, unusual. When we sat, the waiter asked us what we were going to drink and we said to him to bring us one pitcher of water, for start, and that we’ll order something to drink and eat, but we just needed some time to think. He quickly brought a pitcher of lukewarm water, on an exceptionally warm day. I think some ice wouldn’t harm anyone at 40+°C . After we ordered two Coca-colas zero, the waiter brought two cans but without two additional glasses, and the glasses we already had we used for the water. That wasn’t a clear sign to him to bring two more glasses, instead he was standing next to us the whole time until we decided what to order. When I visit the restaurant, I expect some privacy, and some time to think about what I shall order. What I have to praise is that we got everything very quickly, the waiting time was minimal.

The people who come here are from all branches, on the day that we visited, there were mostly business people, but the younger ones were there, too.

So i biber is undoubtedly the place to go, because the portions are big and tasty, and the prices are quite decent, so we give them the highest rating for the price-quality ratio.
