Le Petit Bistro


Neki će možda reći da sam dosadila i Bogu i narodu sa Vračarom, ali to je jače od mene. Vračar je jednostavno deo grada u kome sam odrastala, i iz tog razloga mu se iznova i iznova vraćam. Ali voleli ga vi ili ne, Vračar je oaza najboljih beogradskih restorana (kako po nezvaničnoj, tako i po zvaničnoj statistici). Tako da ovoga puta rešila sam da provedem mirno i opuštajuće veče sa svojom najboljom drugaricom. Idemo u Le petit bistro.

Kada šetate Braničevskom, ne možete da prođete, a da vam za oko ne zapadne bašta ovog bistroa. Ograde prepune cveća, diskretnog osvetljenja uveče, ovo mesto je idealno za relaksaciju. Bašta prepuna zelenila i stolovi i stolice u bež nijansama doprinose nežnosti ovog mesta. Volim bašte koje se nalaze u mirnijim ulicama, gde zaista možete da se opustite i uživate, a ne one gde kada sednete zapuhnu vas izduvni gasovi iz auspuha (nikada mi nije bilo jasno koja je poenta sedenja po takvim baštama, ali avaj, de coloribus et gustibus non disputandum est). Što se tiče unutrašnjosti, apsolutno opravdava naziv. Mali bistro sa zelenim nijansama pomešanih sa notama tamnog drveta. Hedonizam u malom pakovanju.

Nakon što smo se smestile za sto u bašti, bacile smo pogled na meni (na sajtu možete detaljno da ga pogledate, sa sve cenama). Mali meni ali sa zaista interesantim izborom jela i pića. Vinsku kartu naknadno dobijate od konobara. Imate izbor naručivanja vina na čašu, i na flašu, pa ko koliko može da popije. Mada u bistrou je zaista greh ne uzeti flašu vina. Uz dve salate sa lososom, naš izbor je pao na belo vino Zvonko Bogdan - 8 tamburaša. Konobar je bio preljubazan, sve pohvale za njega. A što se tiče salata bile su fantastične. Taj sklad nežnih roze nijansi boje lososa sa šarenolikošću svežeg povrća na tanjiru pravi je melem za čulo vida, a kus-kus je doprineo da čulo ukusa u potpunosti uživa u ovom spoju.

Što se tiče cena - izuzetno korektene, kako hrane tako i vina. Salata košta 790 rsd, što je neki standard po beogradskim restoranima. Čašu vina možete da popijete po ceni od 300 rsd do nekih 500 rsd. Cene točenih piva kreću se od 220 rsd do 320 rsd.

Kada je tip gostiju u pitanju, zaista može sve i svašta da se vidi. Od lokalaca koje je zaista lako prepoznati po opuštenom stavu i načinu oblačenja, do uštogljenih pridošlica koje su došle samo da ispozerišu (tako da u neku ruku imate i komičan show za pogledati gratis). Vikendom je za atmosferu zaslužan DJ.

Sve u svemu, Le petit bistro je ostavio odličan utisak na mene. Preporučujem svima da ga posete (dobro ne baš svima, već onima koji u sebi imaju gen hedonizma), jer uživanje svim čulima ovde je moguće.

Some may say that I bored them to death with Vračar Municipality, but it's stronger than me. Vračar is simply the part of the city where I grew up, and for this reason I keep coming back to it again and again. Whether you like it or not, Vračar is an oasis full of best restaurants in Belgrade (as by unofficial as well as by official statistics). So this time I decided to spend a quiet and relaxing evening with my best friend. We went to Le petit bistro.

When you take a walk down Braničevska Street, you can not bypass, and not notice this bistro’s garden. Fence full of flowers and discreet lighting at night, this place is ideal for relaxation. Garden full of greenery and tables and chairs in beige hues contribute to tenderness of this place. I love gardens that are located in the more peaceful streets, where you can really relax and enjoy, not the ones where you get surrounded by the exhaust gases (it was never clear to me what was the point of sitting at these gardens, but alas, de coloribus disputandum gustibus non est). As for the interior, absolutely justifies the name. Small bistro with green hues mixed with notes of dark wood. Hedonism in a small packaging.

After we settled for a table in the garden, we took a quick look at the menu (on the website you can look at it in detail, with all the prices). A small menu but with really interesting selection of dishes and drinks. Subsequently, you receive the wine list from the waiter. You have the choice of ordering wine by the glass or by the bottle, it is up to your drinking skills. Although, it’s really a sin not to take a bottle of wine in the bistro. With two salmon salads, our choice fell on the white wine Zvonko Bogdan – 8 tambura players. The waiter was really nice, big well done for him. As for the salads, they were fantastic. That harmony of delicate shades of pink salmon with colorful fresh vegetables on the plate was a real sight for sore eyes, and couscous had contributed so my sense of taste fully enjoyed this combination.

As for the prices – they are extremely fair, as both for food and wine. Salad costs 790 RSD, which is a regular price in Belgrade restaurants. A glass of wine you can drink at the price from 300 RSD to about 500 RSD. Price range of beers is from 220 RSD to 320 RSD.

When it comes to the type of guests, you can actually come across all sorts of things. From the locals which are really easy to recognize by the relaxed attitude and way of dressing, to stuffy newcomers who came just to be seen (so you get a comical show for free). On weekends DJ is responsible for the atmosphere.

All in all, Le petit bistro has left a great impression on me. I would recommend anyone to visit it (well not exactly everyone, but those who have hedonism gene in them), because enjoying with all of your senses, here is possible.

Cruise

Želite odličan koktel po vrelom letnjem danu? Onda put pod noge i na Cruise!

Ako sam na nekom mestu u Beogradu bila, bila sam na Cruise-u, tako da slobodno mogu da kažem da sam ovde domaća i samo to što sam njihov gost već godinama mislim da itekako govori o njihovom kvalitetu. Nego, počnimo!

Smešten na Savskom keju, u bloku 70, ovaj splav će vas prvo osvojiti svojom lokacijom. Sav u drvetu, poznat po savršenim koktelima, nikako ne može da ne izazove želju u vama da vidite šta je to što ima da ponudi. Jedan je od prvih splavova u nizu na Savskom keju, blizu okretnice nekoliko autobusa, tako da mu je lokacija izuzetno pristupačna, bilo da dolazite gradskim prevozom ili kolima. Kao što sam već rekla, splav je sav u drvetu, sastoji se od nivoa i sprata, koji je namenjen za nepušače. Lično uvek biram donji deo, bez obzira što nisam pušač, ali dole je leti idealno jer se, pored zatvorenog dela, tu nalazi i terasa, a sedenje na otvorenom uz ljuljuškanje talasa je ono što mi najviše treba po vrelom letnjem danu. U unutrašnjem delu nalaze se prostrani stolovi sa foteljama, kao i barski stolovi sa visokim sedenjem, tako da je prostor i u formi restorana i kluba, po potrebi.

Kada se smestite, dok vas ljuljuškaju talasi, prvo što ćete uraditi je to da ćete se baciti u detaljnu analizu karte koktela, jer došli ste na jedan od najpoznatijih koktel barova u gradu, zaista bi bila gre'ota da ne probate neki, zar ne? Izbor koktela je ogroman, slobodno mogu da kažem da ima sve što vam padne na pamet, a čak i kad bi se desilo, nekim čudom, da vam nijedan koktel ne odgovara, ljubazni i predusretljivi konobari će vam ponuditi da vam šankeri naprave koktel po vašem izboru, ne morate da kažete sastojke, dovoljno je da kažete koju kombinaciju ukusa želite i verujte mi, dobićete baš ono što ste zamislili. Za one koji nisu ljubitelji alkohola ima i veliki broj bezalkoholnih koktela, tako da ima za svakog po nešto. Cene koktela variraju, ali prosečna je oko 400-500 rsd.

Kada vam kokteli lepo otvore apetit, možete da se bacite na raznovrstan i bogat jelovnik. Dominira mediteranska kuhinja, što je jedan od razloga zbog kojih ćete imati osećaj kao da ste na moru, ali ima i drugih specijaliteta, da ne bih sad nabrajala imate kompletam meni na njihovom sajtu. Drugarica i ja se uglavnom, kad god dođemo ovde na klopu, odlučimo za tortilju sa piletinom u čili sosu ili mediteransku salatu sa dimljenim lososom i mocarelom. Ova piletina u čili sosu je jedno od mojih omiljenih jela koje sam jela u beogradskim restoranima, pileće belo meso sa pasuljem i kukuruzom, uz crni luk i savršenim spojem paprike i ljute paprike sa pelatom i slaninom daje pravi egzotični ukus Meksika, što mi daje osećaj kao da sam na nekom meksičkom letovalištu, npr. u Kankunu ili Akapulku. 
Dnevna doza Meksika za 590 rsd, zaista i više nego povoljna opcija. Što se tiče salate sa dimljenim lososom i mocarelom, uz miks zelenih salata, masline, čeri paradajzom i bosiljkom i nju zaista moram da pohvalim jer sam veliki ljubitelj lososa, kao i obrok salata. Pravi lagani letnji obrok koji će vas zasititi, a u zavisnosti od apetita imate L (445 rsd) i XL (850 rsd) porciju. Kad poručite jelo, konobari će vas pitati da li želite i kuver, preukusne, tople hlepčiće uz namaz koji se sastoji od lepo začinjenog sira, putera i maslina, a za simboličnih 95 rsd smatram da vredi počastiti čulo ukusa.

Pored fenomenalnih koktela, Cruise se ističe i po izuzetnom gostoprimstvu, osoblje je preljubazno i hoće da vam izađe u susret po pitanju svega, bilo da se radi o koktelu koji želite, o objašnjenju nekog jela ili mesta gde želite da sednete i za ovih skoro 10 godina koliko sam im gost nikad nisam doživela nikakvu neprijatnost. Kao i na svakom dobrom mestu, ima svih starosnih grupa, pretežno mlađi, ali svako, koga ovde put nanese, ovde nađe svoje mesto pod suncem.


Ne razmišljajte, put pod noge i idite na Cruise, popijte koktel po vrelom letnjem danu i budite hedonista par sati, to vam od srca preporučuju oba člana Gastro policije!

Want an excellent cocktail on a hot summer day? Then hit the road and visit Cruise! 

Cruise is among the places I have visited the most in Belgrade, so I can say that I feel like at home in there, and I think that solely the fact that I have been their guest for years, says a lot about their quality. Anyways, let's start!

Located on the Sava quay, in Block 70, New Belgrade, this restaurant (floating raft) will first win you over by its location. All made out of wood, known for its perfect cocktails, simply allures you to see what it has to offer. One of the first restaurants in row, on the Sava quay, near the last bus stop of several buses, so it's at an extremely convenient location, whether you come by public transportation or by car. As I have already said, it’s all made out of wood, consisting of lower area and the first floor, which is designed as a non-smoking area. Personally, I always choose the lower part, even though I do not smoke, but during the summer, the lower area is ideal because beside the indoor part, there is a terrace, and sitting there, while water ripples slowly rock the raft, is what I need the most on a hot summer day. In the inner part there are large tables with chairs, and bar tables with high seating chairs, so this place can be both a restaurant and a club, as needed.

Once settled in, while being gently rocked by the ripples, the first thing you will do is analyzing the cocktail list in details, as you have come to one of the most popular cocktail bars in the city, it would be really pity not to try some of the cocktails, right ? A selection of cocktails is huge, I can freely say that they have everything you can think of, and even if it happened, by miracle, that you do not like any of these cocktails, the polite and attentive waiters will offer you that the bartenders make a cocktail by your choice and liking, you do not have to tell the ingredients, it is sufficient to say the combination of flavors you like and trust me, you will get exactly what you imagined. For those who are not fans of alcohol there is a large number of non-alcoholic cocktails, so there is something for everyone. Prices of the cocktails vary, but the average price is about 400-500 rsd.

When the cocktail whet your appetite, you can take a look on a big and various menu. Mediterranean cuisine is dominating, which is one of the reasons that make you feel like you're by the sea, but there are other specialties as well, you can check out the complete menu on their website.
 Whenever we come here to eat, my friend and I mainly choose the Enchilada or the Mediterranean salad with smoked salmon fillet and mozzarella. This Enchilada is one of my favorite restaurant dishes that I ate in Belgrade, chicken breast with red kidney beans and corn, along with onions and a perfect blend of peppers and chili peppers with tomato sauce and bacon, it gives a real exotic taste of Mexico, which makes me feel like I'm on a vacation in some Mexican resort, for example in Cancun or Acapulco. The daily dose of Mexico for 590 rsd, more than a good offer. As for the salad with smoked salmon fillet and mozzarella, with a mix of green lettuces, olives, cherry tomatoes and basil, I’m full of praise for it because I am a big fan of salmon, and meal salads. A light summer meal salad that will fill you up, and depending on your appetite there is a choice of L (445 RSD) and XL (850 RSD) portion. When you order a meal, the waiters will ask you if you want a cover charge, delicious, warm buns with a spread that is made of a nicely spiced cottage cheese, butter and olives, for a symbolic 95 rsd, it's worth to treat your taste buds.

In addition to the phenomenal cocktails, Cruise stands out for its exceptional hospitality, the staff is very kind and they want to meet with your demands, be it on the cocktail you want, the explanation of a dish or the area where you want to sit, and in almost 10 years I've been their guest, I have never experienced any problem. As in every good restaurant, the guests who visit it are of all ages, mostly younger, but everyone who ever comes here, will find their place under the sun.

Do not even think, hit the road and visit Cruise, have a cocktail on a hot summer day and be a hedonist for a few hours, both members of Gastro police heartily recommend you to do that!

Ćevap kod Dekija

Želite za male pare odličan srpski roštilj? Dobrodošli kod Dekija! Ne, ovo nije nikakva plaćena reklama, ovo je samo moje najiskrenije mišljenje! Napokon je u centru Beograda otvoreno mesto na kom mogu da se najedem ko čovek, da ne potrošim mnogo, a da uživam u enterijeru, i plus da je osoblje ljubazno! Ali hajde da krenemo otpočetka.

U Strahinjića Bana, moram priznati ulici koju kao rođena beograđanka zaobilazim u širokom luku, nalazi se restoran Ćevap kod Dekija. Za restoran sam čula guglajući u potrazi za dobrim roštiljom. I tako nabasam, pogledam cene na sajtu, i u prvi mah sam bila zatečena koliko su niske cene, te nisam znala da li je ovo fast food ili restoran, te sam rešila da sama izvidim situaciju. Petak veče, bez rezervacija, sa punom postavom Gastro policije, uputih se dve ulice niže, i eto me. Bašta krcata, a ja bez rezervacije! Ali uz punu ljubaznost osoblja smestih se nekako i ja.

Ovo je zaista restoran, a ne fast food (u najmanju ruku očekivala sam nešto tipa Lokija, ali sam se baaaš zeznula). Bašta prepuna što mladih, što starih, što stranaca, što lokalaca, odisala je životom i pravom letnjom euforijom. Ali, kao pravi inspektor odmah sam otišla da bacim i pogled na enterijer. Predivno! Ovo je zaista predivno! Ušuškan mali srpski restoran. Drveni stolovi, stolice, mali drveni šank sa barskim stolicama, separei ušuškani po ćoškovima, zidovi od cigle, imate osećaj da ste najzad otkrili nešto što vredi. Sve je na svom mestu, skladno, sa ukusom. Tako opušteno, a opet tako elegantno, kao da ste kod kuće. Za prostor definitivno čista desetka!

A sada da se bacimo na slađi deo - Meni! U skladu sa prostorom - kratak i sažet. Nema tu mnogo mudrosti, došli ste na mesto gde možete klopati pravi roštilj, uzeti salatu, pomfrit i sve to zaliti dobrim pivom (naravno oduševljenje je poraslo kad sam videla dobri stari Erdinger na spisku). Naša odluka je što se roštilja tiče pala na porciju ćevapa i pljeskavicu sa kajmakom. Sad nam samo ostaje da čekamo.

Posle nekih pola sata, preeeljubazni konobar (koje je zaista teško naći u poslednje vreme) doneo nam je klopu. Hrana je bila servirana u dve male tave i ja sam već samim tim bila preoduševljena. Pomfrit je bio serviran sa činijicom kečapa (što je postalo prava retkost, kao da je od zlata, pa se po restoranima skoro nigde ne servira), salatica koja je odisala svežinom i naravno crni luk serviran posebno - pa ko želi može da se posluži (a hvala Bogu, svi želimo, jer kako roštilj bez luka). Kada sam probala pljeskavicu na kojoj se topio kajmak, moje prve misli su bile - najzad sam našla mesto gde sam oduševljena svim stavkama! I enterijerom, i uslugom i hranom i cenama. Ovo je raj! I nisam subjektivna, zaista je tako! I drugi član Gastro policije, koji je pravi zaljubljenik u roštilj bio je prezadovoljan. 

Pomfrit i Šopska salata


Ceo ceh od dva Erdingera, pet ćevapa, pljeskavice sa kajmakom, porcije pomfrita i jedne šopske salate koštao nas je 1250 rsd. Pa ja mislim da je ovo zaista i više nego korektno. U Strahinjića Bana, što bih posebno naglasila! I tako je Gastro policija punih stomaka, sa velikim osmehom otišla kući. Ovaj restoran je ono što je zaista falilo Beogradu. Nakon nedelju dana ponovo sam im bila gost, ovog puta sa mojom jačom polovinom, čisto da se uverim još jednom da ovakvo mesto zaista postoji, a i da vidim da li sam bila objektivna. I kada sam dobila potvrdu od svog dragog (koji je izuzetno čangrizav kada je hrana u pitanju) da ćevapi kod Dekija spadaju u bolje koje je jeo, to je bilo TO! Preporučujem svima ovde da dođu jer nema šanse da se pokaju!

Want excellent Serbian BBQ for a small amount of money? Welcome at Deki`s! No, this is not a paid advertisement, this is just my most honest opinion! Finally, in the center of Belgrade this place opened, the place where you can eat a lot and not spend a lot of money, and also enjoy the interior, plus the staff is friendly! But let's start from the beginning.

A restaurant Ćevap kod Dekija is located in Strahinjića Bana street, and I must admit, that as a person that was born and raised in Belgrade, I  avoid this street as much as possible. When I google searched for a good BBQ, this restaurant came up in my search feed. So I bumped into this, looked at the prices on the website, and at first I was surprised by how low the prices are, and I did not know if this was a fast food or a restaurant, so I decided to scout the situation by myself. Friday night, the full lineup of Gastro police, without a reservation for a restaurant, I wended my way through the streets, and here I am. Garden was crowded, and I didn`t make a reservation! But with the full hospitality of the staff, I found myself a table somehow.

This is really a restaurant, not a fast food (at least I was expecting something like Loki, but I made a mistake). Garden was crowded with people- young people, elders, foreigners, locals, it was lively, a real summer euphoria. But, as a true investigator, I immediately went to take a look at the interior. Wonderful! This is really wonderful! Tucked small Serbian restaurant. Wooden tables, chairs, a small wooden bar with bar stools, booths tucked in the corners, brick walls, you feel like you finally found something worthy. Everything is in its place, harmonious and tasteful. So relaxed, and yet so elegant, as if you are at home. I give them a straight A for the interior!
  
Now let's get to the sweeter part - Menu! In accordance with the space - short and concise. There isn't' a lot of commotion about it, you've come to a place where you can eat a real BBQ, have a salad, french fries and along with all those drink a good beer (of course the excitement grew when I saw the good old Erdinger beer on the list). As for the BBQ we chose a portion of kebabs and a burger with kaymak(a creamy dairy product similar to clotted cream). Now we only need to wait.

After about half an hour, polite waiter (which is really hard to find in these days) brought us our food. The food was served in two small pans and that already thrilled me. French fries, served with a small dip bowl filled with ketchup (which has become a rarity, like ketchup is made of gold, so the restaurants do not provide it almost anywhere), fresh salad and , of course, onions served separately - so who wants to eat it can mix it with his food ( but naturally, we all want it, because what is a BBQ without onions). When I tried a burger with the melted kaymak on top, my first thoughts were - I finally found a place where I'm thrilled with all of the things! With the interior, and the service and the food and the prices. This is paradise! I'm not subjective, it really is like that! And the other member of Gastro police, who is a real BBQ lover, was very satisfied.

The whole bill, for two Erdingers, five kebabs, a burger with kaymak, fries and a salad, was 1250 rsd in total. So I think that this is more than fair. In Strahinjića Bana street, which I would stress! And so the Gastro police went home with a full stomach and a big smile on their faces. This restaurant is what Belgrade really needed.  I visited the restaurant again after a week, but this time with my stronger half, just to see once again that such a place really exists, and to see if I was objective. And when my beloved (who is very picky when it comes to food) said that kebabs at Deki`s are among the better ones he ate, that was it! I recommend to everyone to come here because there is no chance to regret it!

Lorenzo & Kakalamba

I konačno je došao i taj dan - gastro policija je posetila čuveni restoran Lorenzo & Kakalamba (LK)! Ne mogu da vam opišem uzbuđenje koje sam imala pred dolazak ovde, jer zaista je duže vreme bio na spisku, ali nikako nismo stizale da ga obiđemo. Mislim da mi je bilo veće uzbuđenje od onog koje bih imala pred ispit.

Ovaj restoran je smešten u mirnom delu grada, zavučen, u Cvijićevoj ulici i spolja uopšte ne odaje ni približan utisak šta ćete zateći unutra. Pošto je ovo jedan od najpoznatijih beogradskih restorana, verujem da retko ko ovde dolazi prvi put a da ga pre toga nije pogledao na netu, shodno tome većina zna da je ovaj restoran mešavina Firence i Pirota. To zaista zvuči nespojivo, slažem se, a da li je tako, videćemo u sledećoj priči.

Na samom ulazu u restoran, sa desne strane ''dočekaće'' vas poznati Piroćanci, a sa leve poznati Firentinci. Slike poznatih, tj. slavnih svojim stilom i rasporedom podsećaju na fotografije glumaca u bioskopu Tuckwood. Na kraju tog ulaznog dela, ''hodnika slavnih'', dočekaće vas prijatna hostesa koja će vas upitati za rezervaciju. Naravno da nismo htele da rizikujemo, da dođemo ovde bez rezervacije, tako da nas je odvela do stola za dve osobe. Iz tog ulaza, ''hodnika slavnih'' i mesta gde su hostese, pravo nastavljate za baštu, a levo u glavni deo restorana. Mi smo bile smeštene u glavnom delu.

Na prvi utisak, moglo bi se reći da je ''kičerica'', da je previše stvari, detalja i nespojivih stilova na jednom mestu. Ja se, lično ne bih složila sa tim, mislim da je sve to veoma lepo odrađeno. Po mom mišljenu, kad sam prvi put čula da se ovde spajaju Pirot i Firenca bila sam u fazonu mogu misliti na šta to liči, ali ovaj ambijent je učinio da se ja osećam i više nego prijatno i za njega dajem čistu 10-ku restoranu. Ko kaže da ne primećuje detalje (ja lično spadam u te ljude), za njega je idealno da dođe ovde i testira svoje vizuelne sposobnosti. Apsolutno sve što pogledate ima neki detalj, što sitniji, što krupniji. Kad zakoračite u glavni deo, sa desne strane ćete videti šank, a sa leve statuu žirafe, gusarskih papagaja, pirotske ćilime na zidu, slike renesansnih ideala žena i muškaraca. Kako nastavite da koračate, naići ćete na lampu u obliku ženske siluete kojoj abažur predstavlja šešir, stolove čije su noge u obliku ćupova, skulpture renesansnih ljudi... Taman kad pomislite koliko je neobičnih i zanimljivih stvari na jednom mestu, podići ćete glavu usled uzvika vau, međutim i tamo će vas dočekati iznenađenje - pored kristalnih lustera videćete i ovcu koja visi na plafonu, a kad nastavite da šetate restoranom videćete i kamin iznad koga stoji slika koze i posude za začine. Detalja ima još mnogo, mnogo, mislim da bi mi trebalo bar još deset puta ovoliko teksta da bih mogla da opišem sve, a verovatno bi mi i tada nešto promaklo.

Elem, koliko god da me je prostor oduševio, ipak sam došla u restoran i očekivala sam isti takav utisak i za hranu. Kad smo se smestile za sto čekale smo 15 min da nas konobar usluži (češ, češ)... Dan pre nego što sam došla ovde sam detaljno pogledala jelovnik na sajtu i bila na velikoj muci šta uzeti, jer izbor je zaista veliki, a ja volim jelo koje će imati ono nešto što će mu dati neki šmek. Posle teških, može se reći Tantalovih muka, odlučila sam se za teleće skalopine sa suvim šljivama i marsala vinom, a drugarica za skalopine u picajola sosu (zapečene teleće šnicle u aromatizovanom paradajz sosu sa njokama i mocarelom). Pre glavnog jela, odlučile smo da uzmemo i predjelo, čuveni specijalitet LK - topal đubek (grilovani staroplaninski pareni sir, poslužen uz čeri paradajz i rukolu). Da ne zaboravim da smo pre toga dobile i kuver, ukusne, tople hlepčiće, sa namazom sira i crvene paprike. Ovde bih jedino imala zamerku na to što se uz kuver ne dobija zaobljen nožić kojim se maže namaz, već smo za to morale da koristimo veliki, oštar nož koji je namenjen za glavno jelo. Predjelo je bilo preukusno, obe smo bile veoma zadovoljne i bile smo skroz predane čulu ukusa za glavno jelo. Pošto mi apetit nije nešto, posle silnih dijeta, palo mi je na pamet da li da uzmem pola porcije i kad sam pitala konobara kolika je porcija nije znao da mi kaže gramažu nego je rekao da je porcija za jednu osobu. Složićemo se da je vrlo individualno šta je za jednu osobu, tako da mislim da bi trebalo malo detaljnije informacije davati po tom pitanju. Skalopine su stigle i jedna stvar mi se uopšte nije svidela - moje su bile poslužene sa pire krompirom, što nigde nije pisalo u meniju, niti mi je to konobar naglasio kad sam se raspitivala o jelu. To ne bi bilo strašno, ali ja pire krompir zaista ne volim, tako da je to bio prizor koji mi se nimalo nije svideo, ali šta je tu je. Srećom je meso bilo odvojeno od pirea, tako da sam samo to diskretno još udaljila i trudila se da ignorišem pire. Inače, kad smo završile sa predjelom, konobar nam je odneo escajg i kad je doneo glavna jela zaboravio je da nam donese drugi escajg, ali pošto sam mu to istog trenutka rekla odmah je ispravio grešku.  A sada utisci - iskrena da budem, jelo me nije ostavilo bez daha, ali bez para jeste. 1380 rsd za teleće šnicle sa suvim šljivama, mislim da je preterana cena. Naravno, kad sam naručivala ovo jelo znala sam vrlo dobro kolika mu je cena, ali verovala sam da će suve šljive i vino dati mnogo veći šmek, jer sam više puta jela specijalitete sa suvim šljivama koji su bili veoma dobri. Meso kao meso je bilo ukusno, pečeno taman kako treba, ali šljive ovom jelu nisu dale nikakvu posebnu aromu. Lično mislim da bi sos od šljiva i više začina mnogo bolje išli uz ove šnicle, ali neću da se igram kuvara. Što se tiče drugaricinog jela, njeno meso je bilo tvrđe, a sos od paradajza je svojom kiselošću dominirao. Iskreno, jela ne vrede toliko koliko koštaju, u top beogradskim restoranima sam za te pare plaćala mnogo bolja jela sa mnogo kvalitetnijim mesom.

Kako bih opisala svoj generalni utisak? Prostor bez zamerki, veoma interesantan, čulom vida ćete sigurno sve vreme uživati. Atmosfera malo uštogljena, sa mnogo tihom muzikom, koja je u jednom trenutku prestala, pa su je posle malo pojačali. Gosti svih tipova i generacija, dosta stranaca. Cene su definitivno veće nego na drugim mestima u Beogradu, što nije strašno, s obzirom da se nalazite u ovakvom, muzejskom okruženju, ali bi ipak morale da budu malo realnije, bar što se hrane tiče.

Nekom prilikom ću sigurno ovde opet doći, ali na piće, a ako ogladnim, predjelo će mi biti dovoljno da se zasitim.

The day has finally come - Gastro police visited the famous restaurant Lorenzo & Kakalamba (LK)! I cannot describe the excitement I had before coming here, because it was on our list of restaurants for a really long time, but we never had the time to visit. I think I was more excited than I'd had been before taking an exam.

This restaurant is located in a quiet part of town, tucked away in Cvijićeva street and on the outside it doesn`t give even an approximate impression of what you will find inside. Since this is one of the most famous restaurants in Belgrade, I believe that hardly anyone comes here for the first time before previously checking it on the web, accordingly, most know that this restaurant is a mixture of Florence and Pirot. It really sounds incompatible, I agree, but is it true or not, we will see in the following story.

At the entrance to the restaurant, to the right, you are '' welcomed '' by famous people born in Pirot, and on the left, the famous Florentines. Celebrity photos, by their layout style remind me of photographs of actors in the cinema Tuckwood. At the end of the entrance area, '' hall of fame '', you will be welcomed by a pleasant hostess who will ask for a reservation. Of course we didn`t want to take the chance and come here without a reservation, so we were led to a table for two. From this entrance, '' hall of fameand the place where the hostesses are, straight ahead is the garden, and on the left, is the entrance into the main part of the restaurant. We were seated in the main part.

My first impression, it could be said that the restaurant`s style is kitschy, that there is too many things, details and disparate styles in one place. I, personally, would not agree with that, I think it's all very well placed together. In my opinion, when I first heard that this is the place where Pirot and Florence meet, I was like, I can imagine of how bad that looks like, but this ambiance made me feel more than comfortable and for that I give a straight A to the restaurant. For people who say that they do not notice the details (I personally am that kind of person), it is ideal for them to come here and test their visual skills. Absolutely everything you look at has some detail, either small, or big. When you step into the main area, on the right you will see the bar, and on the left a statue of a giraffe, pirate parrots, Pirot carpets on the wall, images of Renaissance ideals of women and men. As you continue to move forward, you will find a lamp in the shape of female silhouettes with a lampshade which represents hat, tables whose legs were in a shape of clay-pots, sculptures of Renaissance people ... Just when you think how strange and interesting things are in one place, you will raise the head due the exclamation wow, but there will also be a surprise – next to the crystal chandeliers, you will see a sheep hanging on the ceiling, and when you continue to walk you will see a fireplace, above which stands the picture of a goat and spice containers. There is a lot more details, I think we would need at least ten times as many text so that I could describe everything, and even then I would probably have missed something.

Anyway, no matter how much I was thrilled by the environment, I came to the restaurant and I expected the same impression for food as well. When we settled,  we were waiting 15 minutes for a waiter to serve us (scratch, scratch) ... The day before I came here, I looked at the menu in detail on the website and I was in great torment what to order because the choice is really big, and I love eating a dish that will have something charming and new. After tantalizing thinking, I decided for Veal scaloppini with prunes and Marsala wine, and my friend ordered the Scaloppini in pizzaiola sauce (baked veal steaks in aromatic tomato sauce with gnocchi and mozzarella). Before the main course, we decided to take the starter, the famous dish of the restaurant LK - warm djubek (grilled yellow cheese from Stara Planina, served with cherry tomato and rocket salad. Not to forget that before the starter we have been given a cover charge, tasty, warm buns, with cheese and red peppers spread. Here I would only have to criticize one thing, along the cover charge you don`t get the butter knife, we had to use a regular one, the one for the main course. Appetizer was delicious, we were both very satisfied and we were totally committed to the sense of taste for the main course. Since my appetite is not that big, after all of my dieting, it crossed my mind that I could order half of the portion of the dish, and when I asked the waiter what size the portions is, he did not know the grammage but he said that the portion is for one person. We`ll agree that it is very individual what it means “for one person“, so I think there should be a little more information if someone asks about this. Scaloppini arrived and one thing I did not like - it was served with mashed potatoes, which is nowhere written in the menu, nor was it said by the waiter when I asked about food. It would not be that bad, but I really do not like mashed potatoes, so that was something that I did not like at all, but it is what it is. Fortunately the meat was separated from mashed potatoes, so I just moved it discreetly and tried to ignore it. Anyway, when we finished the appetizer, the waiter took our silverware when but when he brought the main courses, he forgot to bring us new silverware, but when I asked for it, he  immediately corrected the mistake. Now the impressions - to be honest, the dish didn`t leave me speechless, but penniless it did. 1380 rsd for veal chops with prunes, I think the price is excessive. Of course, when I ordered this dish I knew very well what its price is, but I believed that prunes and wine would give a much better taste , because a lot of times I ate specialties with prunes, which were very good. The meat alone was delicious, cooked just right, but the  prunes gave no special flavor to this dish. Personally I think that plum sauce and more spices would come along much better with these steaks, but I am not a chef. Regarding my friend`s  dish, meat was harder, and tomato sauce dominated by its acidity. Frankly, the dishes are not worth as much as they cost, in the top Belgrade restaurants for this amount of money I ate much better meals with higher quality of meat.

How would I describe my general impression? Environment unremarkable, very interesting, visually you will surely enjoy all the time. The atmosphere a little uptight, with a lot of quiet music, which at one point stopped, so after a little while they increased the volume a bit. Guests of all types and generations, a lot of foreigners. Prices are definitely higher than in other places in Belgrade, which is not bad, considering that you are in this, museum like environment, but would still have to be a little more realistic, at least as far as food is concerned.

Sometimes I will surely come again here, for a drink, and if I get hungry, appetizer is going to be enough to get my stomach full.
